Peaceful coexistent? I admist CCP probably did do some of these out of the strategy to use Japan's power to continue wear down GMD, but never can CCP peacefully coexist with Japan. CCP have to realize that if Japan destroy GMD then CCP would have to fight Japan for power. If just let Japan take over most of China while GMD fight CCP, then later CCP would not have a chance of winning again Japan. So I guess CCP's strategy would be to ward off GMD attack on them and harrass Japan to slow down their takeover while sending and recruiting a massive number of spies and informants in areas taken over by Japan and within GMD's ranks and territory. If CCP peacefully coexist with Japan, then they will be eliminated after GMD is gone so out of their most important interests in controlling China, CCP will not coexist peacefully with Japan as long as they are in China.
