Today is weekend, and i feel lazy to work and have some time to kill.

Top schools, like top 10 schools are looking for the genius among geinus. If they are right 10% of the time, they can keep their school on top. If a kid cannot show that he/she is among the top ones within his/her group, the AO will not pick him.

For a "negative" essay, one must be very good at writing and mature enough to master it; otherwise the risk is huge. What is the criterion then? It is simple, can your article to be touching enough to let the AO cry? If not, it is not good enough. Then probably try to use a safer topic/style.

One may say that is exactly the thoughts of kids at his/her stage. Then the kid is just among the most others in the population, and is not the one those top schools are looking for. Nothing is wrong with it; it is just not the right strategy for an application essay to top schools.
